Curried Turkey Meatballs
One Christmas holiday season when my family and I visited Lake Tahoe, we went out for dinner one evening and enjoyed the most delicious Indian pita sandwich. The Indian spiced-flavored meat was so fantastic that I had to figure out how recreate that taste when we got back home. The result is this recipe!
Curried Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients
- MEATBALLS
- Pita bread
- 1.37 lbs. organic ground turkey
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. organic unseasoned Panko breadcrumbs
- 3 garlic cloves, diced
- ½ Maui onion, diced
- red chili pepper flakes, dash
- Italian seasoning blend, dash
- ½ tsp. ground coriander
- ¼ tsp. Himalayan sea salt
- ¼ tsp. ground turmeric
- ¼ tsp. cardamon
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. red curry powder
- SALAD
- ⅓ c. diced red onion
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 2 Persian cucumbers, diced
- fresh mint, chopped

Instructions
- MEATBALLS
- Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Rolls balls of the turkey meat mixture in the palm of your hand.
- Place the meatballs in a non-stick skillet on the stovetop. Cook at low heat until meat is cooked through.
- SALAD
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the salad.
- Add all ingredients in a bowl.
- Toss mix with olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- MIDDLE EASTERN HUMMUS RECIPE

- TO PLATE
- Cut pitas in half and warm in the oven.
- Spread hummus all around the inside of the pitas.
- Cut meatballs (meatballs should be warm) in half and place inside the pitas.
- Add in salad mixture & more hummus.
